“Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things I say?” (Luke 6:46)
Many people speak of the Lord and frequently talk about praying, but hardly know what the Lord stands for, stands against, or about the future He has for all.
It gets right to the point of self-service. “I want the Lord, but I want him on my terms.” For a large number of people the Lord is convenient and worthy of respect/honor, just don’t ask any of them to hear and heed what He says in those areas of life that are not convenient.
It’s a challenge to me to take inventory daily (cf. 2 Cor. 13:5). I fail frequently. Nevertheless to whom shall I go, otherwise? #bloganuary
Amen
Luke 6:46 is one of my favorite quotes too.
It reminds me of John 5:45-47. I think that is another time when Jesus did a mic drop. 🙂
You bring up another great verse about us doing daily inventories. Did you mean 2Cro 13:5?
Good night! Thank you for the correction. I will tend to that.
