If I describe myself as a tree, I would be like one planted by the water where life could be sustained. It matters not whether I am an oak, maple, willow, or even a shrub. Without water, I soon die. “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

Since all of will die, what good is there in being recognized as a strong tree that stands tall and anchored firmly? What is it going to do for us when the source of life is refused?

Each person has within him/her the knowledge of God’s existence, presence, and pending judgment. Few tap into it, most try to quell or quash it. They seek to hide from that which they can’t hide. From that which they seek to run, when they arrive, He will be there.

With many failings I have in life, I would be a tree that seeks the source (tree) of life, because His life is the only life I want. It is the only life that give a substantive hope, all others pale.
