Pride and ambition can get anyone and everyone in trouble. When people ascribe to another “The voice of a god and not of a man”, the best thing to do is quickly dismiss the sentiment, ask the Lord to forgive any acceptance of it, and correct those who attributed the sentiment to you. It is made much worse when one ascribes the sentiment to oneself.
