In December, Wayne gave me an article from the Fox News website with the headline “Church of England appoints first female bishop.” With regard to this particular man-made church this is no surprise. What makes this tremendously unfortunate is the disaster it brings upon those who gain spiritual instructions from them. In a context dealing with man-made doctrines and ceremonial uncleanness, the Lord said: “…‘Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant will be uprooted. Leave them! They are blind guides. If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, both will fall into a pit’” (Matthew 15:13-14, NET).
The New Testament is very clear concerning the role of the male and the female in the Lord’s church. That Satan has his hold on man-made churches can’t help but to make one overly sad, even depressed. What can a person do? First, get out of the man-made church. Second, live faithfully in accordance with the Lord’s Word. Third, each Christian needs to speak boldly the Lord’s will for man.
In doing these things, this means there is no compromise with Satan’s way and those of his servants (cf. 2 Cor. 4:4; 11:13-15). To compromise the Lord’s way means that once a crack is the door is made, there is no human force strong enough to hold back the power the Satan to open that door. The only way to keep the door closed and sealed is by the Spirit’s teachings (Colossians 3:16).
Why would anyone brook a compromise with Satan? They wouldn’t knowingly, I am sure. Since Satan can turn himself into an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:13-15), it illustrates that those who do, know not the Scripture nor God. Isn’t this what Jesus said to the Sadducees? “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29, ESV).
